Bark Busters Client Reviews

"I found Jo to be very experienced and she gave us some good advice and showed us methods that really made sense. I did however find it very expensive especially as we probably do not need to see Jo again as our dogs issues are not that extreme. It would have been better for us to pay for a one off visit as this was all we needed."

Trainer's Comments:
We offer a package where people pay for the first visit and follow ups are free of charge together with phone and email support. It is the owners' choice if they need this ongoing support. We are always very happy if an owner gets the results they want from the first visit. In this instance the dog was fearful of people, constantly barked at visitors and would not allow anyone other than the owners to touch it.

"Both Jo and Graham have been super friendly, informative and supportive. I feel that my dog has been making good progress. Thank you!"

"Charlie is nearly five months old. Although we had trained him to sit give paw etc he was being difficult to handle for me, he was constantly biting and would not leave me alone. When Jo arrived she saw this and it was clear to her that Charlie was a horny puppy and biting me through frustration. He doesn't bite my partner. Charlie had ripped several items of clothing and it was becoming stressful to deal with. Since Jo taught me the vocal correction and reward, Charlie has improved massively we have the odd moment where the water spray will come out when he absolutely will not stop however they are very few and far between only one week later. He responds very well to "touch" and "watch me" and we play "swaps" over the park when he picks things up he shouldn't. I did two days with him on the long lead she provided us with because he had run away a few times however since watch me and touch have been in play he has come back every time. So the biting is very few and far between, he is better behaved at other houses people have noticed. He is definitely much calmer at home and I haven't had him hump me in a week! Charlie is doing really well thanks to Jo she was fab and I'm looking forward to her seeing him soon to do some park stuff so she can see how he has improved. If you have a puppy and feel like you are not managing Jo is the lady to call, she is great."

"Jo showed a great deal of knowledge and in a short time gave me the confidence in taking the first steps to training Millie with her separation anxiety issues. I have tried to follow her instructions and can see positive changes in Millie already. I only gave 3 stars for value as I feel until the 3 visits have been completed a true valuation cannot be given."

"Jo spent an evening with us that was both enlightening and reassuring. She managed to identify the many challenges arising from our household of 3 dogs (ranging from a 15yr old to a 3 ½ month puppy). Both myself and my daughter enjoyed the evening learning new methods to add to those we had in place to help manage their very involved relationships. We found Jo very encouraging, I had been a little concerned that we would somehow be 'judged' and found wanting! That worry couldn't have been further from the truth! We both feel we have positive strategies to help create an atmosphere in which our dogs happily play together and we enjoy their company even more (something I didn't think possible!). I would highly recommend their service."

"Graham was a wonderful trainer for both our dogs. Both are rescue dogs so we know we have our work cut out for us. Roxy is a lovely 2.5 year old staffie who is very affectionate but with occasional bad manners with other dogs. Barney is a 8 month old Bull Mastiff cross who has some socialisation but hasn't had a lot of training. Graham had a lovely energy with the dogs and got us working well towards both dogs behaving nicely instead of the zoo we started with - well done Graham."

"We found Graham to be a calm relaxing person and a pleasure to be with. We liked him immediately. Our children aged 6 and 10 also liked him and listened attentively to him. We will definitely be seeing him again and look forward to his next visit in due course."

"Jo had already started providing tips over email before our first session even began, putting us in a good position to continue with a training plan once Jo arrived. As owners of a very timid dog, we were given tips to make sure our dog continues his settling-in process, and we're set up well to continue his training in the future. Jo spent lots of time with us during our first session, observing and making suggestions in different scenarios. Since then, we've continued email contact with Jo and we're looking forward to our next visits."

"When Graham walked into my house, I was a wreck. I had been crying for an entire week with no sleep as my little innocent puppy was peeing all over my White House and not listening to a single word I said. I was completely overwhelmed and scared and I was expecting a cruel session but the second Graham walked in, he made me calm and my dog loved him at first sight. He was so patient with me explaining how the mind of a dog works and he answered my endless boring questions with extreme knowledge. What he got my dog to do was unbelievable. SIt. Stay. Lie down and the best part is that the puppy enjoyed the entire session. Graham is so knowledgable about dogs and the psychology behind their actions and once explained, made everything so much easier. I was feeding my poor dog all the wrong things, rice, porridge, cheese and he explained how a raw meat diet is optimal for canines and now, 2 weeks later, my dog is thriving on her new diet. He also left me very important notes about all aspects of training which I frequently look back on. I look forward to seeing Graham again and seeing what else we can achieve. Thank you Bark Busters!"

"In the 4 months I have had Seth he has calmed down enormously. There is a way to go but in due course he will be the dog I hoped for as a companion. Graham has given me confidence and the ability to be less nervous myself."

"Jo gave us some great practical tips to help Bibi settle into life with us after we adopted her. Jo was very easy to get in contact with and provided us with very helpful follow up support. With Jo's help we're doing better every day :)"

"We wish we had found Graham sooner! He is a natural with dogs (and humans alike !) He has a very calm and personable approach. Our main problem with Nelly was recall. We also needed help with pulling, noise and barking at foxes. Graham took us right back to basics, observed Nelly, taking notes, before getting started. We started at home, with a training plan, which is now part of our daily routine. He showed us the tone of voice to use to get Nelly to respond, which she responds to beautifully. Graham showed us how to stop pulling, and demonstrated this with the T touch harness and lead. We have now purchased this, and walking her seems effortless. We are all enjoying our walks and it no longer seems like a chore. On the common, Graham showed us how to start practicing recall with a long lead, which again is now part of our daily routine. Graham has given us the tools, lead, karma wrap, detailed notes and the confidence that we can overcome the above concerns we had. This was only our first visit, and I cant wait for the next sessions. I cant recommend Graham and Bark Busters enough. I've been raving about it to all my doggy friend owners."

"I first met Graham in March. I really had got to the stage that I could not deal with my dogs behaviour anymore. I did not know who to turn to. She had been attacked by another dog plus I had to have my other dog put down through ill health. She developed separation anxiety;would not pee outside and had aggression to other dogs. Graham has been fantastic. He has never at any stage made me feel its my fault. The advice and training is fantastic.i.e look at me.etc. I can now speak dog. I cannot recommend Graham enough."

"We have seen Jo a few times now, and each time she has been very friendly and helpful. The changes in our home, that she first mentioned to us on her first visit, have had a real positive impact on Benny and Stanley's behaviour. On each further visit, we have just needed some advice and help to pinpoint certain issues that were still a bit of a problem, but with Jo's patience and experience, we have put into practice what she has advised and as a result we are all a lot happier! Nothing is too much trouble for Jo, and we know that she is only an email away, should we need her!! Thank you so much Jo."

"Graham is a very nice person to meet. I absolutely got out of the first session with Graham what I needed. Specific advice regarding Charlie. As well the practice of his advice was fantastic. It was better then I could expect. Really recommend it. Since our first session Charlie has improved 200 %."

"My family and I were finding it very difficult to manage the living situation with my Dog, Drama, and my Mum's cat. Also Drama was misbehaving a lot of the time. After Jo came to our rescue she taught us invaluable information that we have been using every day since. She stayed with us for around 4 hours and gave us in depth knowledge on our situation and it turned out that Drama was actually very stressed and it wasn't his fault he was playing up, he was just trying to do the right thing for his family, but we weren't aware! So after all the help Jo gave us, we now have a much happier household. Drama's behaviour has changed considerably after following her training guides. He listens to me and doesn't pull so much when we are out on walks. He has seemed to have calmed down a little around the cat but that will be a working progress as the cat has has own territorial issues. I would recommend Bark Busters as they have the know how and technique that we pet owners generally don't have. Drama's happiness is incredibly important to me and I'm so glad I got him the help he needed to teach me how to give him a better homelife."

"Graham is a wonderful trainer who we can highly recommend. He is lovely, calm and gives you really useful tips that mean you can still enjoy your dog in a way that works with you. Our dog is much calmer and happier since we had the training sessions with Graham. He explains the dog psychology behind what he recommends and we saw positive results with our dog very quickly. Thank you Graham!"

"The training was very helpful. Graham was very patient and the techniques he showed us were very effective. He had a very calm yet authoritative manner to which our dog, Archie, an 18 month old Cockerpoo, responded well. We have been practising the techniques on Archie and have really noticed a difference in him over the first week. Looking forward to continuing!"
